Arguably the clubs most famous and most popular layout. possibly due to its local location, laying a few miles north of Southampton where the line joins from Eastleigh.
During it years on the exhibition circuit it travelled widely, it also appeared in most of the railway modelling magazines.
At exhibitions we would run it in Southern Railway guise one day followed by BR the next.
It almost got destroyed by fire at one point. The club was forced to relocate to premises over a garage, which one evening caught fire, luckily the fire brigade put the fire out but not before climbing over the layout in order to tackle the blaze.
Romsey was due to attend an exhibition shortly after this event, while the damage to the scenery was repaired the whole layout smelt distinctly smoky.
Romsey was finally retired and sold, its present whereabouts is unknown
