Lowe Quay was built at a time when we had an influx of new members who were keen to build a joint layout under the guidance of more experienced members.
The members were able to hone their skills at track laying, DC electrics and building scenery etc.
Once complete it joined the exhibition circuit for a number of years proving to be very popular. It also appeared in Model Rail magazine.
Its last exhibition was at Salisbury, in 2019, from whence it did not return, Salisbury & South Wilts MRS made an offer for the layout which we could not refuse, so they took it and saved us the trouble of bringing it home. It is currently being refurbished by Salisbury & South Wilts MRS
